For most first-time visitors the right ticket is the Széchenyi day ticket with a locker, at $52 on the Monday-to-Thursday dates we checked in late October 2026. It covers the whole day in the outdoor pools and indoor thermal halls, which is the bath most people picture. Pay more for the morning slot, a cabin or fast track only if it solves a real problem for you, and look beyond Széchenyi if you want a Turkish bath, a quieter local bath or a party.

The day matters as much as the ticket
Weekday walk-in prices are lower at Széchenyi, Rudas, Lukács, Palatinus and Dandár, and Széchenyi’s official walk-in rates treat Friday as part of the weekend. Széchenyi stays open to 22:00 on Fridays only; other days it closes at 20:00, and ticket sales end an hour before closing. Lukács stays open to 22:00 on Tuesdays. Rudas runs night bathing on Fridays and Saturdays from 22:00 to 3:00, sold online only. Palatinus currently closes at 16:00.
Every ticket side by side
Prices are per person for real dates between 24 October and 2 November 2026, not the “from” figure at the top of a listing. Ratings and review counts are each listing’s live GetYourGuide average.

The ticket types explained
Standard day ticket
One entry, a full day, a locker in the shared changing rooms. At Széchenyi that is $52 Monday to Thursday; on the holiday Saturday we checked (24 October) the same ticket was $73. Your wristband opens the locker, and you collect online tickets at the online cashier at the Állatkerti körút entrance. Our Széchenyi ticket review →
Morning ticket
The $44 option is the same full day at a lower price, with one condition: you must enter before 9:00, Monday to Thursday. The bath opens at 7:00 on weekdays, so the window is real. Once inside you can stay until closing.
Fast track
Fast track costs $73 through the day-ticket listing on a weekday, or $77 as a separate Numa Tours ticket with only 12 reviews. It buys a quicker way in, nothing more. On a weekday morning it is hard to justify; on a weekend afternoon it is the one upgrade we would consider.
Cabin
A private cabin costs $55 against $52 for a locker. You change behind a door and leave your things in a room of your own, which matters more to some people than three dollars. Cabin tickets use the Állatkerti körút or Kós Károly entrance.
Palm House
The Palm House pass at $123 adds a premium lounge area with its own hours (9:00 to 18:00 Monday to Thursday, to 19:00 Friday to Sunday). It is also the easiest way round Széchenyi’s no-rental rule, since robe, towel, cap and slippers are included, along with a cocktail, water and fruit.
Beer spa
A 45-minute soak in a private wooden tub of thermal water infused with hops, malt and beer salts, with a tap of unlimited draft beer. The Széchenyi-area version is $101, or $157 with a full Széchenyi day ticket; the Lukács version is $117, or $151 with Lukács entry. Both are adults only. Our beer spa page compares the two.
Sparty
The Saturday night party at Széchenyi runs from 21:30 to 2:00, uses only the two outdoor pools and admits over-18s with photo ID. The basic ticket is $82, the Premium with drink coupons $112, and neither offers free cancellation.
Bath and meal
The Rudas day pass with a 3-course meal is the way to book Rudas on GetYourGuide. The $84 Wellness option does not include the Turkish bath; the $90 option does. The Turkish bath has men-only and women-only days, so check our Rudas schedule guide before picking a date.
Day spa
Mandala, the Ensana spa on Margaret Island and the Helia are private spas with smaller pools, towels or robes in some tickets and a calmer feel than the public baths. Mandala’s pool ticket starts at $54 and is not suitable for under-16s. The Margaret Island spa at $43 is closed to day guests from 19 December 2026 to 10 January 2027.
Rules that come with every public bath ticket
Under-14s are not admitted at Széchenyi, Rudas, Lukács or Dandár, whatever ticket you buy. Slippers are compulsory, and a swim cap is required in the swimming pools. Széchenyi does not rent towels or robes, so bring your own or buy them on site. On-site shops and cafés take cards only. Staff can ask for an original ID to check your age.
Frequently asked questions
Which Széchenyi ticket should I buy?
The standard day ticket with a locker, $52 on a weekday on dates we checked. Choose the $44 morning ticket if you can be in before 9:00, and the $55 cabin if you want a private changing room.
Is the fast track ticket worth it?
On weekends and holidays it can save queuing time. On a weekday morning the standard ticket gets you in quickly enough, so the extra $21 buys little.
Can I rent a towel at Széchenyi?
No. Towels and robes can only be bought on site, or you bring your own. The Palm House pass includes a robe, towel, cap and slippers.
Which ticket includes the Rudas Turkish bath?
On GetYourGuide, the Turkish bath option of the Rudas day pass and meal, $90 on a weekday. The Wellness option at $84 does not include it.
Can children use these tickets?
Not at Széchenyi, Rudas, Lukács or Dandár, which admit only guests aged 14 and over. Palatinus admits children and has two children’s pools.
