How the Rudas Pass Works
Four steps from choosing a date to the first soak.
Pick the bath and the day
Weekday, weekend and peak days are priced differently. Choose a date in the live calendar and the ticket type: locker, private cabin, fast track or a morning ticket.
Get your e-ticket
Confirmation and a mobile voucher arrive by email straight away. The voucher says where to exchange it at the bath; online tickets usually skip the walk-in queue.
Wristband, locker, pools
Your wristband opens a locker or cabin. Bring a towel, slippers (compulsory) and a swim cap if you plan to use a swimming pool.
Stay as long as you like
A day ticket is valid until closing. Ticket sales end an hour before closing time and the pools empty 20 minutes before it.

Choosing
Which Rudas Ticket to Book
Book the Rudas day pass with a 3-course meal and pick the Turkish bath and wellness option for a mixed day. On weekday dates we checked in late October 2026 it was $90 with a coffee, against $84 for the wellness section and meal without the Turkish bath. The Turkish bath is the reason to come to Rudas, so the extra $6 is worth paying. On a holiday-weekend Saturday the all-inclusive option was $146. The pass is rated 4.2 from 1,397 reviews. Wellness or Turkish bath: what each ticket covers
Rudas has two parts. The Turkish bath is the historic core, in a building the listing puts at 450 years old: an octagonal pool under a stone dome, surrounded by smaller pools, six in all, at 16, 28, 30, 33, 36 and 42 °C. The bath suggests about 20 minutes in each. The wellness section is the newer floor, with pools at 11, 32, 36 and 42 °C, saunas and the panorama pool.
The Wellness option does not include the Turkish bath. The listing is explicit: wellness covers every facility except the Turkish bath. If you book wellness and then walk to the dome, you will be turned back. Pick the Turkish bath and wellness option unless your date only offers wellness, which brings us to the schedule.
The Turkish bath’s men-only and women-only days
On weekdays the Turkish bath is often single-sex, and the GetYourGuide pass only sells the Turkish option on days when it is mixed. The bath’s own timetable:
| Day | Turkish bath |
|---|---|
| Monday | Men only 6:00-10:45, mixed from 11:00 to 22:00 |
| Tuesday | Women only, all day |
| Wednesday | Men only, all day |
| Thursday, Friday | Men only 6:00-10:45, mixed from 11:00 to 20:00 |
| Saturday, Sunday | Mixed, all day |
Mixed sessions require a swimsuit. Couples and mixed groups should go on a Monday, Thursday or Friday afternoon, or at the weekend. On Tuesday and Wednesday the pass is sold as wellness only. The schedule can change, so confirm it on the Rudas website before you go. Our guide to Rudas men’s, women’s and mixed days has more.
The panorama pool and the meal
The wellness section’s panorama pool is kept at 36 °C and looks out over the Danube. It is small and popular: several reviewers found it crowded or “almost always full”, so go early in your visit or late in the afternoon. The meal is a 3-course à la carte lunch or dinner at Rudas Bistro, with a coffee, lemonade, wine or champagne depending on the option. You choose your table time when you book and can swim before or after it. The listing gives 11:00 to 20:00 as the spa hours for this pass.
Towels, robes and slippers are not included and cannot be rented, only bought at the cashier; a towel was 6,900 HUF on the bath’s 2026 price list. Bring your own.
Night bathing on Friday and Saturday
On Friday and Saturday nights Rudas opens from 22:00 to 03:00 for night bathing. Tickets cost 15,000 HUF and are sold online only, on the bath’s own website. GetYourGuide does not sell them, and morning passes are not valid. For other late options, see the baths at night.
Getting there, age rules and access
Rudas is at Döbrentei tér 9, at the Buda end of Elisabeth Bridge at the foot of Gellért Hill. Trams 19, 41, 56 and 56A and buses 7, 8E, 108E, 110 and 112 serve the area. Children under 14 are not admitted, and massages are also for 14 and over. Mobility-impaired guests currently cannot use the bath because the stairlift is out of service, even though the GetYourGuide listing carries a wheelchair-accessible tag. Check with the bath before booking if steps are a problem.
Rudas, Széchenyi, Lukács or Gellért?
Gellért has been closed since 1 October 2025; the operator expects it to reopen in 2028. Rudas is the nearest open historic bath, so Gellért plans move here. See is Gellért bath open.
For big outdoor pools, go to Széchenyi: the Széchenyi day ticket was $52 on a weekday with a locker, without a meal. Our Széchenyi tickets page and Széchenyi vs Rudas set out the trade-offs. For a quieter, cheaper Buda bath with a local crowd, the Lukács full-day ticket was $37. Every bath is compared on our best thermal baths in Budapest page.

"Really excellent food. Even though there were three courses (starter, first course and dessert + non-alcoholic cocktail and wine/beer), I left feeling full and satisfied. The thermal baths are not very large, and the infinity pool is almost always full, but overall it was a really nice experience."
