About This Experience
This ticket gives you a day at the wellness center of the Danubius Hotel Helia, on the banks of the Danube. GetYourGuide lists it as valid for one day. It covers entry to the warm-water bath and the fitness area, the saunas and the salt cave, with a towel and bathrobe included. The listing is clear that the water is not thermal. A host or greeter speaks English and Hungarian, and the listing says the center is wheelchair accessible. Food, drinks, parking and massages cost extra. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours ahead, and you can reserve now and pay later.
The Helia mixes a spa with a sports center. The fitness room spreads over two floors, with strength and cardio machines, and the hotel also runs group classes. On the water side there is a swimming pool and 3 hot-water pools for tired muscles. Women and men each have a Finnish sauna and steam room, and the salt cave is set up as a quiet room with loungers. Bring swimwear, and pack workout clothes if you plan to use the gym. This is a hotel wellness center, so do not expect the domes and tilework of the historic public baths.
The Helia has 24 reviews and a mixed record. One guest found it really nice, clean and worth the money. Another liked the place and the salt cave, and said the friendly receptionist handed over towels, robes and disposable slippers, but was disappointed that there are no thermal pools. The sharpest criticism came from a Hungarian-speaking visitor who called it overpriced and felt the receptionist pretended not to understand her at check-in. Several ratings, including a 1-star and a 2-star in January 2026, came without any text, so the reasons behind them are unknown.
Choose the Helia if you want a swim, a sauna and a workout in a hotel setting, and thermal water is not the point. On dates we checked in late October 2026 the ticket cost about $46 per person, and the listing holds a 3.9 rating from 24 reviews. If you want thermal pools, Margaret Island’s Ensana spa or one of the public baths will suit you better, and if you want atmosphere, Mandala’s candlelit bath has more of it. Compare all three on our Budapest luxury spas page.

It was good, unfortunately there are no thermal pools, just usual but anyway I liked the place. Very friendly receptionist provide to us towels, even robes and disposable slippers. There was also salt cave where we enjoyed spending time.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the water at the Helia thermal?
No. The listing describes the pools as a warm-water bath and states that it is not thermal, and one reviewer was disappointed for that reason. If thermal water matters to you, our best thermal baths in Budapest page compares the options.
Are towels and robes included?
Yes. Both a towel and a bathrobe are included, and one reviewer said the receptionist also handed out disposable slippers. Bring your own swimwear, plus flip-flops if you prefer your own, and workout clothes if you plan to use the gym. Food and drinks are not included, and parking costs extra if you arrive by car.
Can I use the gym and join classes?
The ticket covers entry to the fitness area as well as the pools. The fitness room is on two floors with strength and cardio machines, and the hotel runs group classes. The listing does not give a class schedule, so ask at reception about times when you arrive.
Are massages included?
