About This Experience

This ticket gets you into the spa at Ensana Thermal Margaret Island, the wellness center of a hotel in the middle of the island. GetYourGuide lists it as valid for one day. Towels are included, bathrobes can be rented at the spa, and you bring your own swimwear and flip-flops. Hotel guests share the facilities, and Ensana says day tickets for outside visitors depend on current occupancy; you can call +36 1 889 4737 to check. There is also a hard stop: the spa is closed to non-hotel guests from 19 December 2026 to 10 January 2027. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours ahead.

Ensana lists indoor swimming, thermal and recreational pools, an aroma cabin, a steam room, two Finnish saunas and a 400 m² health club as part of the day ticket. The listing counts five pools in total and twelve massage rooms, though massages are not part of this ticket. An outdoor pool and sun terrace open only in season, from 1 May to 13 September in 2026, so from late October you are using the indoor areas. The island setting is a large part of the appeal: the hotel stands among trees in the middle of the biggest island on the Danube, away from the city’s traffic.

Reviewers often describe a calmer, quieter visit than at the outdoor baths in the city, and several mention clean facilities and friendly staff. One group used the gym and the ping pong table before the pools, and another guest singled out the salt cave. A visitor also liked the women’s area, with a sauna and cold flavored water with orange and lemon. The complaints are about space and small details. One guest found the spa small and crowded at peak hours with hotel guests and day visitors, one was disappointed that the aroma cabin was no longer open in September 2026, and another wanted a fuller menu and extra towels.

This suits travelers who want an unhurried, mostly indoor soak combined with a walk on Margaret Island, and the listing says it is wheelchair accessible. On dates we checked in late October 2026 the ticket cost about $43 per person, and it holds a 4.3 rating from 559 reviews. It is not the place for grand historic architecture, and it cannot help if you are in Budapest over Christmas and New Year, when day guests are not admitted. Add the island’s Swedish massage package if you want a treatment, or choose a public bath for a bigger outdoor experience. See how it compares with Mandala and Helia on our Budapest luxury spas page.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.3/5 by 559 verified GetYourGuide travelers.

We had a lovely time, we used the gym and the ping pong table and then used the multiple pools, spent a nice couple of hours relaxing

— Jordan, October 13, 2026

Nice place and a relaxing experience overall. The facilities are good, with a nice selection of pools and saunas. However, the spa is quite small, and it can get very busy with both hotel guests and visitors from outside. This makes it feel crowded at times, especially during peak hours.

I think this is definitely a more relaxed, less noisy experience than the outdoor baths in the city. We didn't use the outdoor pools because it was a relatively cold day. I had been looking forward to using the aroma cabin but its no longer open - why mention it then in ads?? Margaret Island is lovely and we enjoyed our time here. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this ticket over Christmas and New Year?

No. Ensana says its facilities are unavailable to non-hotel guests from 19 December 2026 to 10 January 2027. For a winter soak in that period, look at the public baths; our Budapest thermal baths in winter guide covers what is open.

Is entry guaranteed once I book?

Ensana says day tickets for non-hotel guests depend on current occupancy, because the spa is shared with hotel guests. If you are visiting on a busy date, call the spa on +36 1 889 4737 before you travel. The GetYourGuide booking has free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead, which gives you room to change plans.

Is the outdoor pool open?

Only in season. Ensana lists the outdoor pool and sun terrace as open from 1 May to 13 September in 2026. Outside those dates your ticket covers the indoor swimming, thermal and recreational pools, two Finnish saunas, a steam room and the 400 m² health club.

Are towels and bathrobes included?

Towels are included. Bathrobes are not, but you can rent one at the spa, and one reviewer found the rental price high, so bring your own if you have one. You also need swimwear and flip-flops. Food and drinks are not included.

How does this compare with Palatinus, also on Margaret Island?

Palatinus is a public bath with a 40 m swimming pool and seating pools open all year, children’s pools and family tickets, and it currently closes at 16:00. Ensana is a smaller hotel spa with indoor thermal pools, saunas and a gym, which reviewers find calmer. See our Palatinus tickets page.
